A Note from Susan
Dear Parents and Guardians,
There is nothing like a Friday afternoon when the sun comes out and promises a lovely weekend, especially after a rainy, windy week. I hope your family has a fun weekend planned and don’t forget to change the clock on Saturday night. “Spring forward, fall back” is how I remember what to do.
I am on the Superintendent’s Advisory Team, and we met this week to plan a number of activities for the coming year. I did get a sneak peek at the proposed calendar and since I have had a few questions on vacation dates, here is what is being planned.
- School will begin on Tuesday, September 2nd & end on Friday, June 12th.
- Christmas vacation begins Monday, December 22nd and ends on Friday, January 2nd. Students return to school on Monday, January 5th.
- Spring Break begins on Monday, March 23rd and ends on Friday, March 27th. Students resume classes on Monday, March 30th.
- No school on legal holidays, such as Labor Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving and the following Friday, Martin Luther King Day, Presidents Day, and Memorial Day.
When the official calendar is issued with Archdiocesan in-service days, faith formation days, etc., I will send it out. Hope this helps with vacation plans.
Have a great weekend.
Sincerely,
Susan

Jogathon News
Incentives Begin!
Mark your calendars for Friday, May 2 when students will be running and walking laps for our school! The kick-off assembly was held this past Monday, and students heard about a few changes for this year. One of those being that the Jogathon is going green. Instead of packets coming home with each student, all pledges will be entered online this year.
For complete information including how to get started, how to donate, and how to volunteer, please visit our web site: http://themadeleine.edu/jogathon. This will tell you everything you need to know about our exciting event.
In addition, we will have weekly prize incentives to encourage all students to get out there and get their sponsors.
This week’s prize challenge: Every student who has at least two pledges entered online this week will have their name entered into a drawing. Prizes will be awarded to two students from each class that meet this challenge.
Questions? Please contact the Jogathon Chairs at jogathon@themadeleine.edu.
