A Note from Susan

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Was it just two weeks ago that we were buried in snow? As I look out my office window and see the daffodils popping up, it is hard to remember that snow storm. Spring is just around the corner!

I will be gone for a few days next week to the annual Principals Retreat. Our retreat master is none other than our former Archbishop, John Vlazny. He is such a wonderful priest—very spiritual, yet down to earth with a great sense of humor. I am looking forward to sharing this experience with my fellow Archdiocesan principals.

The one “downer” is that I will be missing our yearly Science Night. If you are new to the school, this is one evening you won’t want to miss. Ms. Yuhas, our science teacher, with the able help of the middle school students, have a fun-packed event planned. The 6th, 7th, and 8th graders will have their science projects on display in the Atrium. The quality of the work is amazing. They also will be organizing activities that the rest of the students can participate in. Who doesn’t love dropping raw eggs from the second floor in a self-designed container or making florescent slime?  Be sure to put the event on your calendar…..Thursday night, February 27th at 6:30.

Have a great weekend.

Sincerely,

Susan

Mardi Gras Volunteers Wanted for March 4th

7th & 8th Graders Needed

Madeleine Mardi Gras is Tuesday, March 4th from 7pm-9pm, and we would love to have a big crew of our upper class kids on hand to help with the fun upstairs in the gym.  We will need help with activities for the younger kiddos, which will provide a great way to get in service hours!

Parents Needed for Mardi Gras Kids Party

It's a full night of fun for the entire family!  The gym will be transformed into a kid-tastic gameland once again, and we need your help with set-up the day of or staffing one of the kids activity areas for one hour the night of the event between 7pm - 9pm.  The fun is not just for kids. We had some serious parent participation on the Wii Dance Revolution last year. Come early to help out and practice your moves! Get your volunteer hours since opportunities are running out!

Email Janeen Reilly at janeenreilly13@gmail.com or Kristin Rios at kristinrios@mac.com if you can help.
