Please contact Lee Fiedler at lee.fiedler@yahoo.com if you plan on attending. Here is the agenda for the evening and the minutes from the September meeting.

The following week is Thanksgiving with a 11:30 dismissal on Wednesday the 27th.

Kids Kreations

Last call for Kids Kreation cards! Order online by the end of TODAY (Friday, Nov. 15) at http://www.themadeleine.edu/auction. Click on the Kids Kreations graphic on the left side of the page. Cards will go home with your child before the holidays.

What are Kids’ Kreations? The Kids’ Kreations program was started in 2005 as a way to celebrate each child’s creativity combined with a fundraising
activity as part of the school’s annual auction. Each child creates an original piece of artwork which is reproduced in color on high quality note cards. A set of note cards includes 20 cards (5 ½ x 4 ¼ inch) and envelopes for $25.00. The inside of the cards are blank so they can be used for any occasion. Check out the hallway outside the art classroom to view your child's Kids' Kreation art.

St. Vincent de Paul Annual Food Drive

st. vincent de paul

Student Government is coordinating with the parish’s St. Vincent De Paul chapter to make this year’s annual food drive a tremendous success. On Saturday, November 23rd at 9:00, volunteers are needed to help us collect the bags full of food in the neighborhood. We will meet in the parish carport on 23rd Ave. Look for sign-ups around the school to help with this fantastic project. Parent volunteers are also needed as drivers to help transport the food back to the parish. This counts for service hours!

Thank you!

Student Government

On the afternoon of Friday November 8th, the 6th grade class volunteered at SOLVE's Baltimore Woods location in the neighborhood of St. Johns. This is the third year the 6th grade students have spent time learning plant identification and assisting with native tree planting and invasive species removal. The amazing difference students at The Madeleine have made to a local riparian zone is magnificent and should be applauded. The 6th grade class was were blessed with wonderful weather the day of the event and patient chaperones. A big thank you to all who participated!

St. Michael's Lunches: 8th Grade

The eighth grade did a wonderful job of remembering to bring in 113 sack lunches this week.  It’s hard to remember on those weeks when Tuesdays fell more like Mondays.  A huge thank you to all the eighth graders who continue to pack lunches year after year.  Many of you have been helping with St Michael’s for nine years and I can only imagine how many lunches you and your family have prepared for our friends in downtown Portland!

The grand total for lunches this school year is now, 1,919.  I bet next week we’ll break 2000!
