A Note from Susan

Dear Parents and Guardians,

After this week, I think we all need a three-day weekend. With Mardi Gras, Ash Wednesday, and Valentine’s Day all in one week, normal schedules were not the order of the day. Perhaps next week will be calmer????

Actually, at the end of next week I will be in Orange County at the Los Angeles Religious Education Congress with Father Mike, Mrs. Grimaldi, Deacon Mike, and Scott, our seminarian. This is a yearly event put on by the Archdiocese of Los Angeles that brings in the top Catholic speakers, educators, musicians, etc. I think there are about 40,000 people in attendance. It is truly one of the largest gatherings of Catholics, though St. Peter’s usually draws a big crowd when electing a new pope! I know we will come back with many good ideas to enhance our Catholic community.

Sincerely,

Susan

Happy Birthday Mary and Father Mike!

Father Mike and his twin sister, Mary Prusso, shared a milestone birthday on Thursday!

Father Mike and Mary got “flocked” by some anonymous funsters as part of the 6th Grade Flock a Friend fundraiser for Outdoor School. If you would like to order a flocking, call the school office, or visit www.themadeleine.edu/flock.

6th Grade Delivers 139 St. Michael's Lunches

The sixth grade class brought in 139 lunches today.  Grade job, sixth grade!  The Madeleine not only delivered nutritious sack lunches but we also brought in big bag of homemade, hand written Valentine cards and candy.  I know that on Valentine’s Day, there will be many smiling faces at St. Michael's.  Once again, The Madeleine School is spreading the love all over town.

Next Kids’ Night In scheduled for March 2 Just $5.

Information & signup form at www.themadeleine.edu/faithformation
We have a date...now you parents can have one, too! Saturday, March 2 is the next episode of Kids’ Night In. It’s a great night of food, fun, and games and learning for kids Kindergarten through 5th Grade.
Parents will drop kids off at the Parish Hall after 5:00 pm Mass, then pick them up at 8:15. You can stay if you want, or....you can have a Parents’ Night Out!
Dinner, in the form of pizza, will be provided, and the evening will include dessert in the form of ice cream or other treat. All this, for just $5! Much less expensive, and more educational, than a couple hours of babysitting, right?
Volunteers needed: kids & adults
We could use some more volunteers—about 4 more adults and a few more teens, 8th Grade and older to help with setup, cleanup and supervision. No prior knowledge or training needed, except adults need to be current on your Called to Protect.
