A Note from Susan
Dear Parents and Guardians,
I hope you enjoyed your “Snovember” day off. It was an especially welcome surprise for me because my Denver grandson is here visiting, and we had a great time together playing trucks, reading books, and baking cookies.
Auction 2014 may be over, but I am still marveling at how wonderful the event was. We truly can’t say thank you enough to all the people who worked to make the night such a success. One more round of applause to Charity, Karoline, Lucas, and Dunetchka for a job well done!
It is with mixed emotions that I tell you that Mrs. O’Mahoney, our 2nd grade instructional assistant and resource room teacher, is leaving us to become the Kindergarten teacher at Holy Redeemer School here in Portland. Anne has been a great asset to The Madeleine these past years, but has also wanted to have her own classroom. Teaching opportunities are not always abundant within the Archdiocese, so when this job came along, she knew it was meant to be. The only bright side for me is that Anne will be teaching my granddaughter Ceci. I am thrilled she will have a teacher of Anne’s caliber to guide her through her first year of school. Good luck and best wishes, Anne.
Sincerely,
Susan

An excerpt from a letter by Father Mike
Dear Friends,
As you may have noticed, the church is warm! Our 1950s-vintage, oil-fired boiler—that broke down several times per winter—has been replaced with a new, energy-efficient natural gas unit. ...
Thanks to generous donations from the Catherine Johnson Family Foundation and others, we are close to fully funding our new boiler, but we’re not quite there… with funding gap of $26,900 on this project. ...
We are looking for ways to cover this gap, and are hoping that you might be moved to contribute to this sorely needed heating system replacement. If you can contribute, please do so! Simply visit www.themadeleine.edu/boiler. Thank you!
