A Note from Susan
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Tomorrow is the big day! The Auction is finally here. The circus big top is ready to throw open its doors to all sorts of wild and wonderful characters, otherwise known as the Madeleine community.
It promises to be a great night of fun and excitement as we see who will be the highest bidders. Kudos to our Auction Chairs, Charity Adams, Karoline Ashley, Lucas Newman, and Dunetchka Otero, for their tireless efforts to make this auction the best auction ever. I can’t begin to name and thank all of the sub-chairs for their many hours of help. They are the behind the scenes workers who make sure this event goes off without a hitch. We are so fortunate for everyone who stepped forward to play a part in this undertaking.
The biggest winners, of course, are our children who will be the beneficiaries of everyone’s generosity. The Auction is our largest fundraiser and supports the programs that we are able to offer. For example, we are so blessed to have a vibrant art, music, and science curriculum in addition to our outstanding core curriculum. Our library, computer lab, counseling office, and reading team provide resources to help our students achieve to their fullest potential. We strive to live out our mission statement of nurturing the growth of the whole child, but we need your support to make it happen.
So, in advance, please accept my thanks for your help in making Auction 2014, Cirque du Soleil, the “greatest show on earth!”
Sincerely,
Susan

4th Grade Tech Project
Just when you thought Election Day was over . . . the 4th grade is working to help spread the word about the Oregon Historical Society's campaign to determine if it is time to enter two new statues into Statuary Hall in Washington, DC or should we stick with the ones we have.
The 4th graders have researched each of the candidates and have written, starred and produced their own videos about each of the candidates. Check out their website at http://oregonstatues.wordpress.com, and vote for your choice before November 12th.
Calling All 6th, 7th & 8th Graders!
Sunday, November 16th @ 7pm

We will also turn in our Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes that night. We will pray for the children that receive them and for the hands that prepared them. Bring a friend! You won't want to miss the fun!
The Middle School youth ministry meets the first and third Sundays of the month from 7-8:15pm in the Parish Hall, or in the soon-to-be “teen room."

St. Michael's Lunches: Kindergarten
348 Lunches!
Congratulations to the kindergarten class for bringing in 348 beautifully made lunches this week. Many brown lunch sacks were decorated with inspirational words and drawings. Little gestures like that always put a smile on the face of our friends at St. Michaels. Thank you for taking the time and effort to makes someone’s day.
Pink Out Was a Success!
Awe! Look at those kindergartners all decked out in their pink!
Here’s one last thank you for your participation in our pink out. The $285 dollars that we raised are going to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS). They operate as the world’s largest voluntary center dedicated to blood cancer. Together we hope to find a cure for blood cancers, and support families and patients as they deal with a blood cancer diagnosis. Check out their website here for more information or to donate!
