How does a student collect pledges?
We are using the web based fundraising system Pledgestar this year to collect pledges from family and friends. Each family needs to register and create their own fundraising page. To do so, please follow the instructions below:
- Go to http://pledgestar.com/madeleine
- Enter your name and email address, then click Register
- Follow the instructions on-screen
Once the student’s page is created, email your private page with pledge requests to your family and friends. Recipients of the email will receive a link to make secure pledges to the student. You can monitor your requests sent and pledges received through your account in Pledgestar.
Goal for each student
Each student is asked to obtain a minimum of $150.00 in total pledges which will help us reach our school’s goal of $45,000!
The minimum flat amount pledge is $5.00. The minimum per lap pledge is .25 cents. Students run an average of 50 laps.
What types of payment are accepted?
- Pay online by credit card. Secure credit card information can be entered in Pledgestar when donations are made
- Pay by check. Please follow the instructions on Pledgestar for making a payment by check.
Can I volunteer?
Yes, we love volunteer help! There are several volunteer opportunities.
Please fill out the online volunteer form and our volunteer coordinator will be in contact with you.
How does my business become a sponsor?
We still have a few spots available on the back of shirts for $250 each. They are approximately 3x3 in size and will represent your company’s name and logo. The shirts will be offered to each student and teacher participating in the Jogathon to be worn on event day. In addition, your business will be highlighted on our Jogathon website and event banner. The spots will be given out on a first come first served basis, so don’t miss your chance! To purchase your spot or for more information, please email: email@example.com
What should my child wear on day of event?
Each student that ordered a Jogathon shirt will be given one prior to the event. Please have your student wear this and athletic wear on event day. While we hope it will be a beautiful sunny day, there is always a chance for rain so please dress appropriately. Please be sure to send a water bottle with your student to school that day.
What are the prizes?
We have a variety of great prizes this year! They will be awarded to our top fundraisers, top boy and girl runner in each class, and top fundraising class. In addition, we will have weekly prize incentives that will be awarded. See the Prize page for additional details on prizes
What happens on event day?
Every student will have 45 minutes to complete as many laps as possible around the Madeleine Field of Dreams (approximately 1/10 mile). Students in grades K-4th will start at 1:00 pm; grades 5th-8th will start at 2:00 pm. Each student will be assigned a tallier that is responsible for recording the number of laps completed by the student.
Can I attend the event even if I am not volunteering?
Absolutely! Parents, family, and friends are more than welcome to join. As our DJ is playing music, our bulldog will be rallying the students and staff as they work hard to run and/or walk as many laps as they can. We would love your support!
