The Madeleine Choir is the heart and soul of the Music Ministry program.\u00a0 Rehearsals are Wednesdays \u2013 September through June \u2013 from 7-9 PM in the Parish Church loft.\u00a0 The choir sings regularly at the 10AM liturgy every Sunday, as well as for special musical programs and feast days throughout the year.\u00a0 Repertoire includes Gregorian chant, Hymnody, Gospel music and Contemporary Praise music.\u00a0 All ages 16 years or older, are welcome.\u00a0 Previous choral music experience encouraged but not required.\u00a0 This choir is a vibrant, support faith community that sings, prays, and plays together!<\/p>\n
Hand chimes are a fun and accessible way to make music as a group.\u00a0 Rehearsals are on Wednesdays, from 5:30 \u2013 6:30PM as scheduled in the Main Church loft.\u00a0 A basic knowledge of rhythm is helpful, but not required.\u00a0 Hand chimes enhance liturgies during Advent, Christmas and the Easter seasons, as well as providing musical support to the Madeleine Choirs.<\/p>\n
The Parish Cantors lead the singing at liturgies, and serve as section leaders in The Madeleine Choir.\u00a0 Cantors also sing as an ensemble at Christmas, Easter, and various times throughout the year.\u00a0 The Cantor should be an experienced singer, familiar with the Catholic liturgy, an effective leader, and a \u201cteam\u201d player.\u00a0 This is an auditioned ministry.<\/p>\n
