Recruit a business to donate to the auction!

Many people are already hard at work putting together a night we think you are all going to love. Now, we have just one job for you over the summer to help us all achieve the auction goals. We are asking each family to hand out five business procurement letters. As you are out and about this summer attending camps, vacationing with your family, visiting your favorite shops and restaurants, and other places of business, let them know about the Madeleine Auction and hand them a procurement letter. It's simple: Just click the image at right, or click this link to download the letter. Print it, then hand it to the business owner.
Once you deliver a letter, send an email to bizprocurement@themadeleiene.edu and our business procurement team will make note that you have handed a letter out and they will do all of the follow-up for you. How easy is that?

Send Us Your Photos for the Auction Slide Show

Do it while you can still remember what happened this year!

St. Michael's Lunches: What a Year!

6,968 Lunches!!

Thank you and congratulations to all the students and parents who made lunches this year for St. Michael's.

Together we provided 6,968 lunches for those in need! That's 78 more lunches than last year!

Cool About Our School

Gabriella W. was surprised when she received a gift card for her Jogathon fundraising efforts since she knew she had not quite reached the fundraising target. After a little research by her parents and the Jogathon chairs, everyone determined that one of her sponsors had been double counted. Her honest nature shown through when she reported the error and turned her gift card back in so the appropriate student could claim her prize.

Hats off to Gabriella for her honesty!

It’s time for the Summer Reading challenge!

The Summer Reading program is well under way.  All students can record their minutes from May 4 - September 4th.  It's a fun way to stay motivated to read over the summer and avoid the "summer slide." The past two years The Madeleine has been second in the state for reading minutes.  Lets see what we can do this summer!

Join the Bridge Program!

Help Welcome New Families to Madeleine School

The Bridge Program creates a welcoming community by connecting new families with current families at the school.  The goal of the program is to be a resource for new families and to help them navigate their first year at the Madeleine so they don’t feel left out, lost or overwhelmed.

Each volunteer is expected to check in with their Bridge family at least once over the summer, during the first week of school, and during the first trimester.  In addition, there are three opportunities during the school year to get volunteer hours:

If you are interested in being a “bridge” for a new family, please contact Caryn Fiedler at fiedler3fam@gmail.com.

Parents Club: Thank You, and Looking Ahead

As the 2014-15 school year comes to a close, so are the terms of several valiant Parents Club members. So, if you'd like to put your ideas into the Parents Club "suggestion box," you're invited to reach out to any of the following people: Jonas Allen (President), Deborah Naugler (Vice President), Susan O'Leary (Treasurer), Debbie Ryan (Secretary), Room Rep Coordinator (Kristin Rios), Parents Club Hot Lunch Coordinator (Molly Briscoe), Evelyn Bian and Marni Campbell (Hospitality Coordinators), Lisa Luna (Parent Education Coordinator), New Parent Coordinator (Caryn Fiedler), Fundraiser Coordinator (Susan Samuelson), and Alyssa Pace (Parents Club Past President and SAC Liaison).

Goodbye, Miss Hickcox

Kelsie Hickcox, who has been a teacher in the Learning Loft, will be teaching at Holy Trinity in Beaverton this fall. We will miss her radiant smile and positive attitude. She is a past Madeleine graduate who truly lives her Christian faith. We wish Kelsie all the best in her new teaching position.

familyFamily Faith Sharing

June 14 ~ Eleventh Sunday in Ordinary Time ~ Mark 4:26-34

In today’s gospel reading from Mark, we hear two stories—or parables—about farming. In the first one, the farmer scatters, or spreads, seeds in his fields, and then does nothing else to help them grow, And, yet, even without his help, the seeds grow into plants that flourish and produce fruit. The second story is about the mustard seed, which is one of the tiniest of all seeds. When planted, this teeny tiny seed grows into a plant that is about as tall as the ceiling in your home and becomes a home for birds. The mustard seed story seems to tell us that even from such small, humble beginnings, truly great things can happen! In these parables, the seeds represent faith, that is, our belief in God. This faith is “planted” deep inside us, and as we grow, so does our faith!

What are some of the things that your parents and teachers do to help faith “grow” in you? Brainstorm some things that you can do to help your faith grow.
