A Note from Susan
Dear Parents and Guardians,
I wish you and your family a blessed Christmas and a Happy New Year. I hope your days are filled with joy as you celebrate the birth of our Lord. The holiday season gives us many reminders to be thankful for all the gifts God has bestowed on us. Our Madeleine community is certainly one of the gifts in my life and I am so grateful.
Have a great weekend.
Sincerely,
Susan

Madeleine's Christmas Program Travels the World
Thank you and hats off to Ms. Bjore for this year's wonderful Christmas program, which traveled the world with each class singing a Christmas song in a different language. With her second Christmas program, Ms. Bjore scored another homerun with recorders, bells, a string orchestra, the Madeleine Choir, and (of course!) the sweet voices of all our students. An especially beautiful touch was the final song when all the students sang together while encircling the entire chuch!

Thanks to the many angels who have already fulfilled many of our teachers' wishes, there will be some fun extras in the classrooms in 2016. You can become a Christmas Angel by funding or finding a gift from the "Teacher Wish List." These items are not in the budget, but would enhance the classroom.

Spaghetti Dinner Needs Chairpeople
Let's talk about pasta. Specifically, spaghetti. The school's Spaghetti Dinner fundraiser is scheduled for February, and we've already heard from 27 people interested in helping out. But this ambitious group of pasta-boiling, sauce-stirring, bread-buttering warriors needs some leaders. If you and a few of your friends are able to step up and chair this February FUNdraiser, please email Jonas Allen at jonas_m_allen@hotmail.com. We hope you're called to "serve."

St. Stephen’s Lunch Program
Making a difference one lunch at a time
As you know, the weather has been horrendous this week. In addition, it would be easy for everyone to be distracted with the excitement of the holidays. Yet with all of this going on, the 4th grade came through in a big way by bringing in 294 lunches! Thanks to you 4th Grade, there are 294 people who know that you care about them during this holiday season!
Family Faith Sharing
December 20 ~ Fourth Sunday of Advent ~ Luke 1:39-45
Mary went to the hill country of Judah to see her cousin, Elizabeth, who was going to have a baby. When Mary greeted Elizabeth, the baby in her womb began to move and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. She said to Mary, “God has blessed you more than all other women and has blessed the baby in your womb. The Lord has blessed you because you believed in His promise.” We honor Mary because she became the Mother of Jesus by saying “yes” to God. Mary’s faith and trust in God is what makes her special. How can we say “yes” to God, as Mary did, and bring Jesus to the world?
