The University of Portland School of Education is offering the Summer Learning Program again this year, which will run July 6 – August 6, Monday through Thursday, 9:30am – 11:30am. Students entering 3rd-11th grade in the 2020-21 school year are welcome.

The learning in the program focuses on the Common Core State Standards appropriate for each child, specifically mathematics and language arts. Our Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) candidates tutor/teach students according to learning needs. The MAT candidates develop assessments to determine what level each student is at when they enter the program and plan the curriculum accordingly.

The cost of the program is $125, though many students are given scholarships. The first payment of $50 is due with the application forms by Friday, June 12. There are two ways you can complete the application for the program:

1. Complete the application online at https://education.up.edu/resources-community-members/summer-learning-program.html

2. Print the attached packet and mail it to the address provided.
